Introduction

If you enjoy leading a team that creates a well-presented and safe environment, then join the team at Cefn Carnau in Thornhill, near Cardiff as Maintenance Manager, where you will feel valued and supported. 

Working 37.5 hours a week, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and transport services which will see you deploy available resources to support the service users and staff at the site.  

As you lead the maintenance team, you will organise and implement a planned preventative maintenance schedule which will see you and the maintenance team prioritising curative maintenance and repair services, and optimise standards, availability and performance for the hospital's equipment, buildings and grounds.

You will be responsible for ensuring the equipment and facilities are fit for purpose, which will see you will regularly conduct audits to identify and repair any faults.

As the Maintenance Manager, you manage the operation of the hospital central pool vehicles, cost-effectively and efficiently to best meet the transport requirements. You will need a Full UK Driving License.

Other responsibilities:

  • Ensure adequate records of the planned maintenance and test results, eg. Equipment logs, fire alarm logs
  • Coordinate the installation and maintenance of hospital communication systems
  • Manage the effective and efficient provision and operation of the hospital utilities
  • The management of projects as directed through the head of maintenance
  • Maintain a register of all authorised drivers for insurance purposes, ensuring that all drivers on the register meet the hospital requirements
  • Ensure that vehicles are roadworthy and at all times meet legal requirements, the safety of drivers and passengers being of paramount importance

To be successful as a Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll need:

  • City and Guilds, and/or ONC/HND in the relevant technical qualification
  • Full driving licence
  • ISOH/NEBOSH Health and Safety                                   
  • Supervisory and Management Certification                         
  • In-depth knowledge of plant and ancillary equipment
  • Supervisory and training skills
  • Minimum of 3 years of maintenance and management experience
