About The Role

Here at Morrisons we're always looking to grow, learn and more importantly become experts in our field. With this, we have many exciting and new projects planned for 2021 & onwards within our Manufacturing division and because of this we are growing our team. Therefore we are looking for a Project Engineering Manager to join our exciting & growing team.

 

Our Project Engineering Managers are key to the successful delivery and accountability for on time & in full delivery of a variety of multi million £ capital projects across multiple manufacturing sites. You will play a key part in the delivery and governance of the project portfolio for the overall manufacturing business. It's demanding, pacey and ever-changing.


Reporting into the Senior Manager - Capital Project & Automation, it will be your role to:  

  • Use your in-depth project management experience to ensure the successful delivery and a fully integrated end solution with operational teams
  • Deliver the intended business case benefits of the investments
  • Use the Manufacturing Capital Project Framework fully to ensure allocated projects are defined, scoped, developed, delivered and commissioned to the satisfaction of the internal clients and & agreed business benefits.
  • Champion Health & Safety management throughout the project process
  • Ensure a comprehensive and consistent project information library (audit ready at all times) and readily available for handover to the end internal client.
  • Anticipate the full needs of all projects, ensuring correct set up with the relevant work packages including commercial & legal aspects
  • Working with 3rd party design teams such as professional Consultants, Architects & Quantity Surveyors. 
  • You will build and maintain a strong internal network of multidisciplinary stakeholders including but not limited to property, procurement, finance, technical and H&S.
  • Champion the central engineering agenda across the sites, for example taking ownership for improvement (User Requirements, Commissioning, Handover) or being a subject matter expert for a technical discipline (Mechanical, Energy, Automation)
  • you would also work with a particular manufacturing division as a key customer (Chilled, Meat, Bakery, Eggs, Fish, Produce) to oversee smaller value site led capital projects
This role can be based out of one of our manufacturing sites, ideally in the North West and will require travel to our sites across the UK including visits to our Head Office in Bradford. It is a role that requires high autonomy and a clear drive to succeed.
About You

As well as having a demonstrable experience of a strategic Project Management role, we look for: 

  • Someone who has extensive experience of Capital Project Management, ideally from an industrial or manufacturing background within a highly automated manufacturing environment with the ability to implement industry leading technology solutions
  • A strong track record of managing across multiple projects ranging from £500k rising to £8M+), with experience of tracking costs, time & quality of projects
  • Demonstrable experience of Capital Project Management, delivering automated solutions, as well as process improvement & process ownership
  • Strong knowledge of process improvement techniques, driving process efficiency & simplicity
  • High level of commercial knowledge and ability to negotiate on cost, time & delivery
  • Strong internal and external stakeholder management skills, with the ability to challenge others on cost, time & quality and negotiate throughout the process
  • Experience of Project Engineering Management with buildings, equipment & automation
  • Exemplary Communication & Interpersonal skills at all levels
  • Strong Senior, Operational & Functional Stakeholder Management skills with the ability to prioritise and make key decisions
  • Ability to utilise and govern a comprehensive document management system
  • Competent with IT systems 
  • Ability to utilise CAD for drawing management and updates is desirable
