Biomedical Assistant - Lincoln - COVID-19

Job description

We’re a large organisation with three hospitals located in Scunthorpe, Grimsby and Goole. We also provide community services in North Lincolnshire. Our 6,500 members of staff care for and support a population of more than 400,000 people.

We encourage all our staff to innovate and adopt ‘best practice’ so we can deliver excellent care to our patients. We ask staff to live our values; kindness, courage and respect.

We are committed to recruiting the best people to work with us. You could be one of them

An opportunity has arisen within the Pathology Department at Lincoln County Hospital for a Biomedical Assistant. The post will be based in the Blood Sciences laboratory and involve the data entry, processing and testing of blood, urine and fluid samples using both automated and manual methods. The role will also involve the routine maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.

Previous laboratory experience would be an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be given.

You will be required to have good communication and keyboard skills, along with the ability to work under pressure. Although supervised by Biomedical Scientists, once fully trained, you should be capable of working independently.

Participation in the 24hr shift service is a requirement of the post.

We are committed to personal and professional development. Training within your new post will be given if necessary. Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is encouraged.
