Are you an experienced Mental Health Nurse who would like to be part of mental health team, providing better lives for the service users, working for one of the UK’s most respected NHS Mental Health Foundation Trusts?

We have an opportunity for a 6-month placement (potential to extend) for a RN to be based at Junction 17 Prestwich. Working with the highly experienced mental health team, you will be providing an efficient and effective service for service users with organic and functional mental health needs. You will be responsible for the assessment of care needs, development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care. He/she is designated to take charge of the ward in the absence of senior staff. The Post Holder is expected to supervise the junior staff and assist in meeting the training and development needs of the ward / department.

 

This includes respecting individuality, values, culture and religious diversity of clients and colleagues and thus contributing to the provision of a service sensitive to these needs.

 

Pay Rates (hourly):Days: £13.79 Saturdays/Nights: £17.93 Sundays/Bank Hols: £22.07

Shifts will be Mon-Fri, 9-5 Flex hours will be considered.

 

 

Junction 17 (J17) is a specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) for young people aged 13 – 17 who require assessment and treatment for a range of complex mental health difficulties. The team at J17 provide a range of services within our double award winning state-of-the-art inpatient unit 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. As well as inpatient services,J17 operatesafive day a week day service for young people with mental health needs.

Our team of CAMHS trained mental health professionals work with young people every day towards their recovery who are experiencing mental health difficulties such as psychosis, eating disorders and anxiety/ depression. The focus is on helping the young person understand their mental health issues, build coping skills, through a range of therapeutic interventions. The ultimate goal of the team at J17 is to help the young person to recover from the mental health issues sufficiently to be able to go back to their life, building their confidence and supporting the young person and their families/carers. The mental health services we offer at Junction 17 promote positive mental health and wellbeing and the specialist care we provide, helps ensure every young.

Skills/Responsibilities:

  • Registered mental health nurse compliant with requirements for NMC
  • Experience of working in at least one of the following clinical area’s
    • Adolescent Psychiatry
    • Forensic Psychiatry
    • Young Offenders Institutions
    • Serious Mental Illness
  • This position requires an individual who recognises the need to continue personal and professional development.
  • Full understanding of the Care Programme Approachand Mental Health Act including the needs and rights of Carers.
