Senior Staff Nurse - Oncology & Haematology - COVID-19 in London

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for an E Grade Nurse (Band 6 equivalent) to join our Oncology & Haematology Outpatients Unit, based at our Cancer Services building in Central London (W1G) with an inclusive salary range on offer of £33,877 - £37,950 per annum. 

Established in 1932, The London Clinic is one of the UK’s largest independently owned non-profit hospital, with state-of-the-art facilities located on Harley Street. We have circa 1200 employees, a total of 8 premises, and we are dedicated to providing the best, personalised healthcare with a breadth of surgical and medical expertise.

Our Oncology & Haematology Outpatient department comprises of 22 individual areas for outpatient treatment. It also has two fully enclosed private rooms for outpatients who require extra privacy during their treatment. Our patients attend for day case chemotherapy and related treatments and/or consultant appointments. We currently have 5 apheresis machines, where donors/ patients attend for peripheral blood stem cell donation.

 

Job Description

The post holder will facilitate the provision of a coordinated, high quality outpatient service to cancer patients and donor registries in consultation with the outpatient manager and or Lead Apheresis Nurse.

  • Job Type:Permanent and Full Time
  • Shifts:Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week)

Duties & Responsibilities

  • To be able to work autonomously and also as part of a team.
  • To provide efficient, effective and evidence-based nursing care to patients at the Clinic.
  • To be competent in the recognition of life threatening/and or apheresis citrate reactions and act appropriately.
  • To organise workload in line with clinical priorities.

 

Skills & Experience

  • RGN with valid NMC Registration
  • Post registration course within this specialist field
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Oncology and Haematology
  • Willing to work and be trained in an Apheresis Unit
