Senior Staff Nurse - Gastro/Colorectal Surgery - COVID-19 in London

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for an E Grade Senior Staff Nurse to join our Digestive Diseases Unit based at our main hospital in Central London, W1G 6BW (close to Regents Park & Baker Street tube stations), with an inclusive salary range on offer of £38,906 - £43,590 per annum. 

Established in 1932, The London Clinic is one of the UK’s largest private hospitals, with state-of-the-art facilities located on Harley Street. We have circa 1300 employees, and our main hospital spans 8 floors comprising of 234 beds and 10 theatres. Our Digestive Diseases Unit comprises of 16 patient rooms all with en-suite facilities. We provide medical and mainly surgical care to patients across a range of specialties, including Colorectal, Gastroenterology, Upper GI and Stoma Care.

 

Job Description

To be responsible for the delivery of the highest standards of care and service to the patients.

  • Job Type: Permanent and Full Time
  • Shifts: 37.5 hours per week (Days, Nights & Weekends)

Duties & Responsibilities

  • To take responsibility for individualised patient care as the named nurse, using the Roper, Logan and Tierney model and documentation for the department.
  • To ensure legibility and accuracy of nursing records and be aware of the legal implications of these documents.
  • To promote safe practice and professional conduct.
  • To encourage good working relationships within the multidisciplinary team, to ensure the effective care and treatment of patients.

Skills & Experience

  • RGN with valid NMC Registration
  • A minimum of 12m post registration experience in Gastrointestinal - Colorectal Surgery preferred
  • Competent IV giver, with experience with epidurals, venepuncture/cannulation & ECG recordings preferred
  • Demonstrates sound knowledge of gastroenterology conditions and interventions.
