About the role

Propositions is set to be one of our biggest areas of growth in the next three years. As Retail Propositions Manager, you will be responsible for optimising our existing retail propositions (currently Subscriptions & Easy Repeat), identifying and implementing new proposition opportunities and supporting the wider Group Propositions team.

This is a challenging role, you’ll be working in a fairly new area that is complex and operates in a highly competitive marketplace. There are no quick fixes so you’ll need to be rigorous in your approach; testing, analysing and learning as you go.

Key responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

  • Identifying and developing new propositions which are commercially viable and support the business ambition to be the best pet care provider in the UK - helping more customers choose and stay with us.
  • Optimisation of propositions through rigorous analysis and testing to ensure they meet customers’ changing needs and expectations.
  • Working alongside Trading, Digital, Marketing, Formats and Ops teams to deliver a seamless multichannel journey across each of our propositions
  • Creating ways to engage and reward our loyal customers with great value and convenience, retaining their future spend throughout our proposition portfolio.
  • Putting customer insight at the heart of proposition design and evolution via the Data, CRM and Marketing teams
  • Representing the customer and colleague voice when developing, testing and implementing propositions. New or existing
  • Providing clear customer friendly processes for store, contact centre & logistics teams, ensuring right first time delivery & best opportunity to retain customers

About your experience

You’ll have a strong commercial background, ideally in proposition development, and be able to balance serving customer needs with business profitability. You’ll understand how to build both cost and pricing structures in order to make our propositions viable and profitable. Ideally you’ll have a background in a retail or services business. Experience in business development roles or in a subscriptions businesses will be a bonus.

You’ll also have a background in both shaping and then leading on the delivery of strategy.

  • Well versed in analysing customer and business insight
  • Able to collaborate, communicate and work with a number of functions across the business
  • An ‘out of the box’ thinker and respectful of the value that competitor analysis provides
  • Able to identify future patterns and trends to support growth
