About The Role

Morrisons are looking for an IT Procurement professional with technical competence along with a proven track record of managing large complex agreements or major IT software and service providers.


The Procurement Manager - Tech, will have a strong  technical knowledge of software, service and infrastructure providers and will be accustomed to translating business requirements into developed commercial solutions which support our Tech category plans and wider objectives. The Procurement Manager - Tech will drive solutions showing real business benefit, including cost savings, improved service and mitigation of risks, securing best value outcomes across the category.

About You

The successful Procurement Manager will have responsibility for: 

  •  Managing procurement of Tech related categories, using best practice category management, supplier relationship management (SRM) and contract management techniques.  

  • Supporting the Design, Development and implementation of the Tech Procurement strategy aligning with business objectives and the overall Procurement strategy

  • Supporting the creation and delivery of suitable Tech Procurement strategies and targets 

  • Implementing procurement processes and policies by conducting tendering, contract management, spend analytics and supplier performance management.

  • Responsible for engagement with Tech to expertly guide and advise, giving specific advice to ensure we achieve commercial value and benefit 

  • Implementing and reporting on cost-saving opportunities 

  • Deliver, high level Tech procurement projects to agreed timelines and objectives, supporting complex senior level negotiations and implement appropriate tactics to achieve a favourable outcome

  • Conducting and leading regular reviews of Tech commercial models within the category to identify commercial opportunities 

  • Ensuring detailed, forward-looking category plans which align to the wider business objectives, regularly reviewing and evolving plans based on changing business needs and  supply market dynamics 

  • Supporting stakeholders with relationship strategies with suppliers, supporting with strategic reviews, supplier performance management and contract compliance, developing joint plans with key stakeholders

  •  Influencing policy thinking and positively influence continuous improvement across the business, bringing drive, energy and pace to category activity.

  • Developing and maintaining an extensive supplier network, identifying new solutions and/or market shifts and seeking alternatives where necessary

  •  Thought leadership in the development and enhancement of procurement processes.  

  •   Consulting with senior internal stakeholders to understand complex business problems and influence category development through the implementation of robust solutions which are commercially beneficial, creating a unified business strategy

  Becoming an expert within the category, driving meaningful results for Morrisons, ensuring the end customer receives excellent service through consistent supplier outcomes
