The Packaging Design Specialist will deliver the 2 year design & packaging evolution programme for Morrisons Own Brand across Mid Tier, The Best, Wonky & Nutmeg Home (c. 6,100 lines). The successful colleague will use customer, category & market insight to help develop customer centric design & packaging solutions for categories across the business and will manage the roll out process of own brand packaging to guidelines.
You’ll be responsible for:
Rolling out compelling design solutions for Morrisons own brand product packaging.
Reviewing competitor activity and keeping abreast of design relevance and what matters most to customers; understanding emerging packaging trends & how these can fit into Morrisons product range
Working with Creative Agencies ensuring designs are delivered to brief
Liaising with internal stakeholders, external agencies and copy writers in order to formulate clear and concise design briefs, critical paths and budgets
Consolidating feedback and reviewing direction based upon this
Engaging with trading teams throughout the process to ensure they are aligned to new design direction & respond to feedback where required
Being a brand ambassador both internally and externally for own brand. Protect and enhance the reputation of our brands ensuring right first time.
Ensuring agency output fulfils the brief and that the design quality is consistently delivered and on brand
Managing sign off to photographic scamps and final design files with stakeholders - Traders, creative manager
Delivering of Design solutions supporting the Own Brand strategy resulting in increased sales
Maximising efficiency of agency support ensuring all agencies deliver to SLA and agreed cost matrix
So that you are set for success, we are looking for a self-starter, who is an exceptional communicator with the ability to influence at all levels. You will work as part of a versatile team with a can-do culture, so it’s important that you are tenacious and strive for excellence. You will also have the following:
A degree in Graphic Design or equivalent level of education with retail and/or agency experience within a similar role
Creativity and a knowledge and passion for product.
Industry knowledge of agencies and ways of working
Design artwork copy and print process knowledge
Passionate and committed to delivering great quality work
Ability to follow briefs clearly and concisely
Ability to build effective working relationships both internally & externally
Own brand experience for major retailer brand or Agency
