We are one of the largest specialist mental health and learning disabilities trusts in the country, with an annual income of £320m and a workforce of some 6,700 staff operating from around 100 sites in Durham, Teesside, North Yorkshire and York and Selby. We provide a range inpatient and community services to 2m people living in County Durham, the Tees Valley, Scarborough, Whitby, Ryedale, Harrogate, Hambleton and Richmondshire. We also provide additional specialist services to other parts of Northern England.

This post is being advertised to address a temporary need for 12 months however the Trust has made the commitment to offer the successful applicant a permanent contract with the Trust. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Older Persons Mental Health inpatient team on Roseberry Ward at Bowes Lyon Unit, Lanchester Road Hospital. We are looking for an individual who has an interest in the care of older people in our services to contribute to our team. The role can be challenging, which will afford the successful candidates to work as part of a supportive multi-disciplinary team that is focused on delivering high standards of care through evidence based practice. A supportive package will also be in place with team and managerial supervision as well as ongoing opportunities for personal training and development.
Applicants should hold a professional nursing qualification registered with NMC.
A flexible approach is required as these posts involve working a 24 hour shift pattern, covering both day shift and night shift covering 7 days a week.
