  • Ealing Hospital: a busy district general hospital providing a range of clinical services, as well as 24/7 emergency department and urgent care centre
  • Central Middlesex Hospital: our planned care site, which also offers a range of outpatient services and urgent care centre.

We are a university teaching NHS trust, in recognition of the important role we play in training clinicians of the future and bringing the benefits of research to the public.

London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust (LNWUH) first introduced the Apprentice Nursing Associate role in December 2018 and we are continuing to expand the role throughout the Trust. We are recruiting for our January 2021 cohort at University of West London. Prior to submitting an application, you need to ensure that you will be available for interview week commencing 14th June 2021 and you are able to provide evidence of how you meet the entry requirements on the day of interview (i.e.: original qualification certificates; passport; etc).

The two-year apprenticeship is made up of:

  • 20% university attendance
  • 20% undertaking off the job learning (dedicated experiential learning in a clinical environment)
  • 60% undertaking work-based learning.

You also need to meet the following entry criteria in order to enter the NA Apprenticeship, you must have the following:

  • · A Level 3 (A-Levels) qualification / diploma in Health and Social Care or the verified equivalent – if from outside UK this will need NARIC verification;

  • · Functional Skills (both Math and English) at Level 2 (GCSE A-C) or the verified equivalent;

  • · A successfully completed Care Certificate is highly desirable but not essential;

  • · A valid UK passport or EAA leave to remain status, or if from overseas passport must have a valid visa that lasts 2 –3 months longer than the expected end of apprenticeship programme (counting from date of application);

  • · Manager’s support – your current workplace remains the paying employer, so it is important to have support to develop into the new role over the course of 2 years; your line manager must give a reference stating they are happy for you to enter the apprenticeship and why; failure to supply may lead to disqualification of the application. External candidates: please supply supporting reference from most previous employer.

  • · Interview process either face-to-face or via MS Teams; documents of the above to be copied/scanned and provided at time of interview and also need to be uploaded to university application site as part 2 of application/interview process

You will be required to bring the certificates to interview with you; if you do not provide the evidence on the day of the interview you will not be interviewed.

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, applicants will graduate with a foundation degree (level 5 qualification), enter a profession regulated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and be employed by LNWUH as a Band 4 Nursing Associate (on condition of having successfully completed the End Point Assessment of the apprenticeship).

If you are unable to attend for interview week commencing 14th June 2021 or are not ready to commence in this cohort (September 2021 intake), you may not apply at this time, future opportunities will be available.

Interview dates will be confirmed after successful application.
