The Dartford Specialist Teaching and Learning Service has the exciting opportunity for a qualified and experienced teacher to join our team, who will be employed by Rowhill School and based in the Dartford District. Dartford STLS is one of twelve District STLS teams in Kent and is committed to providing high quality teaching and learning support for children and young people with SEND, within mainstream schools in Dartford. A solution-focused approach is at the heart of all that we do to improve inclusive practice. We are looking for an excellent practitioner with experience of working with pupils who have SEMH needs and associated C&I needs also as many of our cases have co-morbid diagnoses. The age range covered will be across all age phases but predominantly the Primary phase. The role will mainly involve supporting and advising school staff on successfully including pupils and striving to removes barriers to inclusion. This includes school visits for individual cases, capacity building through the LIFT process and delivering training. The school currently has approximately 129 on roll between the age of 5 and 16 with a wide range of needs including communication and interaction difficulties as well as behavioural, social and mental health needs. We also provide an Alternative Curriculum Provision for 18 KS4 pupils, providing tutoring both on and off site. The STLS teaching service is also housed on the Rowhill site. Our staff work closely with pupils to create an ethos of care, respect and success.
