Trainee Assistant Financial Accountant in London

Job description

Main Duties


Assist in the preparation of internal and external reporting:


  • US GAAP, IFRS, UK Solvency II and Bermudan Regulatory reporting
  • Responsible for key finance processes that support monthly and quarterly reporting
  • Journal entries
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Review and Management Information packs
  • Support team with monthly Treasury and Operations reconciliations and analysis
  • Maintaining key control documents and procedures up to date

 

Collateral Management


  • Responsibility for the collateral management process which includes
  • Preparation of the transfer forms; and
  • Dealing with external clients and internal stakeholders (Operations, Corporate Actuarial and Treasury team)
  • Preparation of related MI and reporting requirements

 

Ad Hoc Duties


  • Project work including, new product implementation, etc
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements
  • Assist with routine and non-routine reporting to Division and Corporate entities
  • Assist in producing high quality, clear and concise presentations

 

Skills/Experience

 

Graduate

  • GCSE Maths
  • Good communication skills
  • Self-Starter with a desire to develop their technical knowledge and skills.
  • Problem solving abilities
  • Strong computer proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general ledger systems.
  • Ability to be pragmatic
