We are recruiting for a strong People Manager to work in our Employee Relations People team in Bradford, to be a key enabler in working with our business partners,  further developing our culture, where everyone feels welcome and celebrated.

We’re looking for a People Manager with strong Employee Relations and culture change experience, as well as a passion for inclusion, diversity and wellbeing. This role works in true partnership with the Heads of People, Centres of Expertise and operational colleagues to identify, shape and drive the strategic people agenda for the divisional business areas. 

The Employee Relations Manager will be responsible for identifying key legislative/regulatory changes likely to impact future business and organizational needs, leading cultural change through designing and delivering policies and specialist training in order to protect the business from financial risk from employment litigation. In addition, they will take a leading role on ER, Diversity and Wellbeing projects, delivering through to successful implementation, delivering against productivity, cost, engagement and performance targets. 

The Employee Relations Manager will be accountable for:

  • Developing the divisional specific Employee Relations people plan focusing on key areas of performance, engagement and leadership of all colleagues 

  • Proactively, and creatively identify solutions to allow the business to achieve its operational objectives in relation to employee relations, diversity, wellbeing and industrial relations 

  • Driving the implementation of the Industrial Relations strategy, engaging with unions and their members

  • Coaching and developing the employment relations and employment law skills of colleagues and line managers and inspiring through leadership 

  • Listening hard and acting on insights and perceptions to inform and drive improvements in our group people policies, processes, and organisational performance

  • Driving customer service through engaged and motivated colleagues 

  • Maintaining a customer centricity and an employee experience mindset - everything we do puts our colleagues and customers at the heart of our decision making

About You

It’s a given that the successful candidate will be able to build strong relationships with key stakeholders and will remain up to date with all employment law, legislative changes and best practice, as well as being committed to building and maintaining a deep knowledge of Industrial Relations, TUPE and key legislation that will enable the delivery of our many and varied change programmes.

Ideally you will have worked in a senior HR role in a complex organisation, with experience of leading internal change programmes, and will have the ability to understand colleague and customer requirements. You will have a very strong technical background and solid practical experience of advising on employment legislation.
