Location: Outskirts of Cambridge, Cambridgeshire

Hours: 40 hours per week

Salary: Circa 40,000 - 50,000 DOE Car Allowance Bonus Scheme

This is a management position and therefore you will be responsible for working closely with the Managing Director and Leadership team to set and implement policies and procedures.

You will contribute to operations information and recommendations to strategic plans.

Duties:

  • Establish and manage a team of in-house technicians - up to 10 initially
  • Manage field delivery team to provide optimum customer services
  • Develop and implement full end to end workflow for the field delivery team from order to the completion of equipment commissioning
  • Build a network of approved sub-contractors
  • On-boarding and training of in-house technicians and new Sub-contractors
  • Build the administrative support function required for scheduling of appointments
  • Manage the admin team supporting the field work
  • Implement a Field Service Management tool for customer appointment scheduling, resource allocation, parts and equipment provision
  • Co-ordinate with Customers to engage and inform Residents about meter installation plans
  • Investigate and resolve any issues resulting from substandard performance
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are followed
  • Provide support and guidance to service staff
  • Develop programs to improve technical and customer service skills of delivery staff
  • Address customer enquiries, resolve issues and obtain customer feedbacks proactively
  • Identify and resolve employee concerns/complaints
  • Maintain positive and healthy relationship with internal teams and sub-contract partners
  • Prepare and complete action plans
  • Implement production, productivity, quality and customer-service standards
  • Communicate job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising and reviewing job contributions
  • Recruit, select, train, assign, schedule, coach, counsel and discipline employees

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Technical background of managing installations technicians / engineers
  • Prior operational management experience
  • Understanding of field service management tools
  • Ability to manage time and workload effectively
  • Experience in negotiating and working with sub-contractors
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Practical and pragmatic decision making
  • Leadership skills
  • Ability to engage and motivate others
