We are excited to be partnering with one of the UKs Fastest Growing Independent Builders on a fantastic role. The goal is to become a leader in the independent builders’ merchant sector. To do this they have been working to build a customer-focused business, with great products, outstanding customer service and a strong, expanding branch network.

We are recruiting an Internal Communication & Culture Manager to Provide timely, consistent and engaging communication and activities for colleagues to ensure they feel informed and happy at work. You will be the voice of the business as well as helping to establish the culture of being "the best place to work".

Responsibilities include

• Develop the internal communications and engagement strategy and deliver clear, regular, engaging and high-quality communications and activities to ensure colleagues are informed and motivated
• Work closely with the senior leadership team and other colleagues to establish and communicate key business messages framework & timings
• Plan, write and edit a variety of internal communications including intranet, monthly newsletter, weekly email bulletins and briefings
• Plans and organise a variety of business events to share key business updates and encourage two-way dialogue between colleagues and the management team as well as to develop a culture where people enjoy being at work and spending time with each other
• Lead the development, launch and ongoing management of an online internal communications platform / intranet
• Work with the Head of HR to conduct a bi-annual colleague engagement survey, report on results and help to drive action
• Work with and support colleagues across the business to ensure all internal communications messages are consistent
• With closely with the marketing team to ensure consistency with external communications

Skills & Behaviours

• Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant professional experience
• Experience of internal communications and engagement, ideally gained in a medium-sized organisation undergoing change
• Experience of working closely with HR, marketing and senior colleagues
• Very strong communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to interpret and translate information to a variety of audiences
• Very strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels as well as to influence and handle sensitive situations
• Good creative skills with the ability to bring business messages to life in person, in print and digitally
• Good IT skills including use of social media, content management, word processing and. Design/artworking skills would be an advantage.
• Ability to prioritise and manage own workload effectively but also to be flexible and respond to emerging issues, short deadlines or other challenges
