Purpose of the role:

Based from home, with occasional travel, the primary function of the Induction Tutor role is to support Apprenticeship and Adult Education English and maths students to achieve their full potential. You will undertake induction tutorials with students using online meeting technology. Using your communication skills, you will connect with students and provide non-technical guidance and support to onboard them into their relevant courses. You will support, primarily in an advisory capacity towards the students by providing information at the start of their courses. The role will include working with apprenticeships from Level 2 to Level 5 and our AEB English and maths provisions from Functional Skills Levels Entry 3 to Level 2.

LEARNER INDUCTION TUTOR: The Essential Bits.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a record of influencing and motivating others
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to work to multiple deadlines and prioritise your own workload
  • An understanding/experience within the Work Based Learning and Training industry
  • Relevant teaching or coaching qualification or equivalent experience
  • Experience of delivery to groups of people both online and face to face

LEARNER INDUCTION TUTOR; The Desirables.

  • Previous experience in a similar role within the Training industry, for example, Employer Engagement, Learner Engagement, Recruitment
  • An understanding of Apprenticeship Frameworks

LEARNER INDUCTION TUTOR: Main Duties.

  • Plan for and undertake non-technical inductions for allocated apprenticeship/AEB students to support them inducting to
  • Organising Skills tests for learners
  • Coaching and recruiting learners onto apprenticeships
  • Liaise with apprenticeship programme delivery teams as required to support programme development and/or improvement
  • Maintain induction records in accordance with Apprenticeship/AEB Team requirements
