One of our partner schools are currently recruiting social science graduates to work alongside an experienced SENCO and SE team, you will mainly be supporting SEMH students (social, emotional, mental, health.) Since schools have re-opened after the lockdown, we have found a huge increase of students that have developed/increased the SEMH needs. Therefore, an increase of support staff has been required.

The students would havealready been identified by the school for having a particular SEN need/s. Therefore, prior experience would be highly desired. Your main role would be to support staff and help any reading, spelling and comprehension tasks. This would be supporting both groups and 1:1 mentoring/support. You will be helping with a variety of students who have SEN needs; therefore a general understanding would be desired.

Main Aspects of the Job:

  • Help with in class tasks to assist those in and around those schools.
  • Ability of working well under pressure with the ability of overcoming any diversity for different situations and scenarios.
  • Working alongside children who often find themselves in need of more support that there peers. (Mainly working with SEMH and ASC students.)
  • Producing resources of those who may be more in need of additional support, both in small groups and 1:1 support.

School is situated within Stockport, with great public transport links situated very close to the school alongside the accessibility for car drivers with both the M60 and M56 running close by and a large car park on the property. The school is set in very pleasant surroundings boasting fantastic facilities within the local area.
