About The Role

The Property Project Delivery Manager, South will operate across locations from Sheffield to Brighton, providing professional leadership and direction to the project delivery team on new stores, fresh look refurbishments, modular, petrol filling stations, extensions, regional distribution and manufacturing, third party retail schemes and special bespoke projects. 

The Manager will lead the team to deliver quality projects, on time and within budget while adhering to the core values and governance of Morrisons. 

This is an amazing opportunity for a professional who is comfortable working across a large geographical area; overnight stays will be commonplace as well as frequent travel.

It would be preferable for applicants to reside in areas such as Hampshire, Dorset, Somerset and Devon , due to the travel requirements in this role.

A car driver with a full licence is required.

This is a permanent full time position which benefits from a ‘4 day working week’.

Responsibilities;

  • Deliver Morrison’s mission statement to improve the shopping experience to customers through ease of shop and improved product quality and availability

  • Effectively organise and implement extensions to existing buildings where complex solutions are required to maintain existing trading patterns; maintain an appropriate environment for colleagues working in store and customers

  • Scope projects; develop programmes and establish governance for reporting to ensure stakeholders and project teams clearly understand expectations of both programmes and their responsibilities therein.

  • Recruit and deploy internal and external stakeholder resources, in conjunction with procurement, to deliver successful projects

  • Lead and motivate the project teams, providing technical support to team on construction queries, store design and equipment specifications

  • Attend regular Design Team and Site meetings to monitor progress of the works, whilst upholding the interest of Morrisons and promote industry best practice across the team.

  • Direct and review architects procedures in developing planning applications that meet statutory governance for retail, Logistics and Manufacturing

  • Assure the technical drawings for off-site highway works and Section 278 ; that the design team comply with CDM legal requirements and that agreements are in place to allow works to complete in line with plan

  • Prepare construction reports for Property Services Director and Senior Construction Project Manager when required



About You

Requirements;

  • A construction related qualification to degree level and/or, membership of a recognised construction professional body (Such as RICS/CIOB)

  • Significant experience within Retail related industry with knowledge or a background within construction , building services, refrigeration, electrical and mechanical (desirable)

  • A proven track record of delivering Construction projects, preferably within retail, logistics and manufacturing businesses

  • A general understanding of building, planning and highway legislation and procedure , Health and Safety

  • Demonstrate the technical ability to promote a common purpose across diverse professional teams

  • Experience of working in a fast paced environment, adaptive to change

  • Tenacious approach, does not let setbacks detract from a positive approach

  • Computer literate, with analytical skills -  we use G Suite
