An opportunity for an experienced Agile Delivery lead with current SC clearance to join a new team and help shape the right practises from day one in the correct way. Individuals can be based anywhere in the UK .

Our client is building out a new team to support their existing bids team and require a number of new hires to supplement the current employees. Will be mainly focussed on bid work into the Government sector and so existing security clearance is essential.

Individuals really can work from any location in the UK, the detailing of a location on this advert is because job boards demand it.

Due to the nature of the work and the clients this position has been determined as Inside IR35 and the rate is expected to be around market rates of £600-700 a day to the umbrella company, although this can be discussed for the right individual.

Contractually the initial assignment will be detailed as 3 months but due to the critical nature of this role and the anticipated work load you can be comfortable in expected extensions beyond 6 months.

The role:

  • Work with our business development teams to feed your expertise and experience into winning proposals which you then see through to successful delivery.
  • You will be a key member of a new team tasked with responding to quick turnaround proposals, transitioning into a delivery team on successful bid outcome.
  • Manage and own delivery of multiple development streams over one or more agile delivery teams.
  • Give the teams, client and project the best possible opportunity to succeed in a variety of environments.
  • Work with multi-disciplined product teams (UX Research & Design, Software Developers, Agile Test), you will be responsible for ensuring there is clear prioritisation, communication and delivery of digital solutions
  • Own the agile team processes, ensuring agile approaches are adopted and maintained.
  • Coach teams and clients to enhance their agility and help them develop
  • Use varying tools and techniques to identify and drive improvements to quality and delivery
  • You’ll use appropriate metrics to track and forecast delivery, manage dependencies and expectations and highlight and improve inefficiencies in ways of working
  • You’ll enable teams by identifying and removing risks and impediments
  • Be responsible for scoping and defining roadmaps
  • Own the delivery plan and visualise and radiate information for agile teams and client to ensure transparency.

Required skills and experience:

  • Proposal generation for central government organisations.
  • Experience in defining Digital Products in a government organisation – familiarity with Government Digital Services (GDS).
  • Experience of managing delivery of software products into central government organisations or similar.
  • Development of successful products from alpha through to production.
  • Demonstrable experience of multiple agile methods, tools and practices (Scrum, Kanban, Lean etc.) and be able to pragmatically apply and coach them as required.
  • Excellent negotiator and influencer, able to make smart, practical decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
