Our Client is a well established company based in the North West of England. They specialise in the design and installation of Electricity, Gas and Water networks using their in house teams. They are currently seeking a Junior or Trainee Utility Design Engineer / Estimator to provide support to their professional design and tender team.
The role will be based in their North West office, and is a full time position.
About the Junior Utility Design Engineer Role:
The role will be primarily be office-based and the Trainee Design Engineer / Estimator will be will be involved in the preparation and submission of estimations and quotations to clients.
It will involve, assisting, undertaking and submitting utility designs in water, gas, and electric distribution networks to the adopting authorities.
You will report to and work under the Design and Tender Manager.
About the Successful Trainee Utility Design Engineer Candidate:
This is a design and tender orientated role and the applicant must be a team player with high attention to detail. The applicant must have an open mind to develop new skills and eager to assist the department in any way to be as efficient and thorough as possible.
In house training will be available through the Design manager and/or by a skilled operative.
AutoCAD experience/qualification would be preferred, but is not essential.
Skills and Experience required:
• IT literate with ability to competently use software packages to complete work.
• A good level of Microsoft office is a requirement, including Excel.
• Strong Communicator, Flexible, willing to adapt to new tasks and duties.
• Demonstrates passion and enthusiasm.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Organised, methodical approach to work with good time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both verbal and written.
• Ability to handle all matters confidentially.
• Team player able to support the team.
