Finance Manager - Group Control Frameworks

As a key member of the Control Team, this is a great opportunity to not only ensure that the Retail Group Financial Control environment is effective, but also to add value through liaison with a wide variety of stakeholders across the business to further develop the Financial Control Framework.
What you need to do
- Provide guidance on the design and deliver testing of controls across all relevant areas and functions of the business to ensure that they are designed and operating effectively
- Liaise with business stakeholders to understand key business changes that impact financial reporting and help design effective controls to mitigate the risks
- Strengthen the control environment by enhancing and standardising control documentation
- Provide strong leadership to the Control Analysts and develop colleagues to progress their careers
- Maintain the internal control framework for the Finance Operations team
- Manage the coordination of all external audit enquiries
- Manage the coordination of and reporting on Internal Audit actions
- Support the Senior Finance Manager and team with coordination of the Group Authorisation policy ensuring all transactions are appropriately governed
- Support the Senior Finance Manager with the review and maintenance of relevant Risk documentation
What you need to know and show
- Qualified Accountant with large corporate experience
- Internal audit experience and / or experience of operating under Sarbanes-Oxley (Sox) highly desirable
- Experience of large-scale payment processing and financial accounting operations
- Good knowledge of financial controls, end-to-end accounting processes and the drivers of process efficiency
- Previous experience with finance systems is desirable
- Previous experience or leadership of small to medium size teams
- Excellent communicator and relationship builder with financial and non-financial stakeholders
- Good Microsoft Office skills
- Experience using Blackline an advantage
- An understanding of Supply Chain, Logistics and Retail processes an advantage
- The ability to proactively engage with the business and motivate and influence others
- The ability to communicate clearly and to influence a range of stakeholders effectively
