We are looking to recruit an Apprentice Workflow Administrator for our busy GP Surgery in Southampton which can be a great start to a rewarding career within the NHS. This is a full time position based at The Royal South Hants Hospital in Southampton where we are a busy GP surgery with 19,000 patients across 3 sites in Southampton.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and hardworking apprentice to join our small but dedicated and supportive workflow team who provide an efficient and friendly service for all our patients and effective administrative support to our clinical staff.
The role requires a high level of inter-personal skills and personal confidence. A respectful and empathetic attitude will be essential along with the capacity to manage sensitive and confidential information. We are looking for somebody who has a ‘can-do’ attitude.

A criterion of the apprenticeship is that you attend college/virtually and complete all the necessary standards set out in the Apprenticeship. The apprenticeship is for 22 months and upon completion you will be awarded a Level 3 Business and Admin Apprenticeship. You will be employed on a fixed term contract for the duration of your apprenticeship.
The aim of this role is to streamline the flow of clinical correspondence through the organisation, by reducing the number of letters that GP’s need to process. This should ensure that GPs are able to give priority to the most appropriate correspondence.
The post holder will identify and read code any key clinical data from correspondence, such as new diagnoses, diagnostic test results, significant health information and/or episodes and health promotion information e.g. BP recordings, height, weight, smoking status etc.
