Assistant Accountant - Lowlands in Derby

Here at Morrisons we’re looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our Horticulture Finance team based at the Flowerworld site in Derby.  Your time will be spent split between Lowlands Nursery in Spalding and Flowerworld Derby over four days a week *

Horticulture products are one of our fastest growing business areas, and you’ll be joining a recently acquired business that’ll be undergoing significant transformation over the next few years. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small, close knit site based Finance team and get hands-on financial experience in a manufacturing environment.

As an Assistant Accountant you’ll be responsible for:

• Assisting with daily and weekly financial reporting. 

• Providing and communicating financial information to stakeholders.

• Providing operational variance analysis. 

• Producing product costings and transfer prices

You’ll ideally have the following skills and experience:

• This role would suit someone who has a Finance/Accounting degree or someone who is currently working towards a professional qualification of CIMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent. 

• Proficient analytical and numerical skills

• Previous experience using an MRP, Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets

• Excellent attention to detail

• The ability to build good working relationships with a variety of stakeholders across the business.

• A self motivated individual with experience of delivering to deadlines.

As well as looking after our cash, accounts and working capital, we also control costs, produce forecasts, deliver insight and manage supplier reporting and supplier payments.
