Personal Care Assistant in Heywood

Support work for a young man with physical disabilities as well as autism Support in every day tasks - personal care, eating , drinking , going out for activities 

10 - 40 hours per week
Between £10.00 and £13.00 Per Hour

What are you going to do:

Hi, my name is A and I am a 19 year-old young man

I live in the Hopwood area and I am looking for someone who can be my personal assistant.
I enjoy days out which must include a hot chocolate and cake! I also enjoy meals out.

I love swimming, roller skating, bike riding amongst other things.
I also love being at home and spending time with my family. My favourite place is my living room watching my favourite DVD’s and television.

I am looking for someone special who would like to spend time with me and help me do all the things I cannot do alone.

We require a support worker for A who has cerebral palsy affecting all 4 limbs and a full time wheelchair user. He also has Autism.

We will require the successful candidate to be involved with his Neuro-Rehab program, involving daily exercises and working with the Neuro-physio providing ongoing treatment.

A requires full assistance for all activities of daily living such as personal care, feeding, manual handling and administering oral medication.

A is non-verbal and uses a communication aid which he uses well to express his needs.

You will work within the family home, however, flexibility to take A away to his Holiday Home in the UK is mandatory. This can be discussed at interview.

We require a person who is motivated with a calm, caring nature.
We would like someone who has experience with special needs as A can be challenging at times. However, we will consider people on an individual basis.

Full driving license required and essential for this job.

Full training will be given on all mandatory training and Professional development within the role will be encouraged.

Salary dependant on experience and qualifications

Hours vary – weekday 7am – 10am and 2.15pm – 8pm

Weekend and school holidays 10am – 8pm

This would suit a student who wants to work some extras hours now and again maybe a student nurse amor someone studying a health subject. We can be flexible to an extent with shifts.
