The Role

The Solutions Architect will be an integral part of the IT Operations and Services function where key responsibilities include:

  • Working in close collaboration with H&B business stakeholders, technology business analysts and delivery managers to ensure we are continuously supporting the technology needs of back office teams.

·       Work with DevOps teams to agree interactions between systems and/ or new developments.

  • Understanding the user's view of applications and technology so as to put procedures in a logical sequence; providing expertise on technical concepts of applications and/or needs and roles of user groups.
  • Establishing and maintaining rapport with both functional and technical colleagues with the purpose of coordinating analysis, design and documentation as well as responding to business process issues and project prioritization requests.
  •  Assisting in identification of gaps in business process documentation and analysis.
  • Consulting on critical design decisions, reviewing various resources and preparing analyses accessible to wider audiences.

Key Accountabilities;

  • Collaborate with other team members on overall design of system configuration including identifying and documenting technical solutions for business issues.
  • Partner with the business to conduct design review with IT Delivery Manager
  • Provide considerations for transitional or permanent solutions for business functions not supported by primary software system.
  • Identify and document the application and integration designs
  • Development and/or implementation of functional and non-functional requirements of built and/or purchased information systems, with a key focus on integration of systems and data.  
  • Responsible for analysing the interactions to and from multiple back office applications.
  • Evaluates new product features and manages new releases of vendor software.
  • Identifies risks inherent to technology solutions and maintains technical debt register
  • Develop an understanding of the business, strategy and priorities as well as solid relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Maintains commercial experience of supporting technical programmes including playing a key role in an RFP process

The Person

 

Professional qualifications and experience:

 

·       A minimum of 3 years' experience working as a Solutions Architect.

·       Experience in working in a DevOps environment with stakeholder management in both Engineering and non-engineering teams.

·       Experience working with DevOps teams to seamlessly integrate SaaS and internally developed applications.

·       Demonstrated ability to collaborate with functional and technology staff and end users.

·       Demonstrated ability to synthesize and clarify complex and/or ambiguous information from multiple sources using a variety of tools and techniques.

·       Demonstrated ability to organize complex analysis and communication tasks into manageable work with meaningful results.

·       Experience working across fast-paced environments.

·       Experience in implementing technical solutions for internal group functional teams (Finance, Legal, Compliance, Property, HR and Learning & Development).

We offer a flexible, home-based working model. We have offices in Nuneaton and London, but you will not be required to be office-based.
