Job description

Our Graduate Programme is designed to give you the experience and core consulting skills you need to get your career off to a flying start. Starting as you mean to go on, you’ll build your commercial understanding and business acumen, to deliver real value to our clients straight away.

Management Consulting is a priority area for our Advisory business – and invaluable to our clients’ businesses too, as we help them to address some of their hottest topics. We focus on helping clients add lasting value and enhance their performance by delivering sustainable improvements to their business. Our Operational Transformation Graduate Programme, within Management Consulting, focuses on working with clients to transform their operations and create resilient supply chains. Through our core propositions across Supply Chain and Procurement we work to provide clients with fact-based insights, utilising leading technology solutions to enhance the Supply Chain and Procurement functions. Typical client challenges include the need to invest in the latest technology; a desire to reduce the ethical impacts of their supply chain and wanting to realise greater value across their Operations.

Operational Transformation is about working with clients across their Supply Chain to improve visibility, efficiency and transparency. Clients are looking to build a Supply Chain that is agile, ethical and able to adapt to disruption and change. To support businesses in transforming their Operations, our work can include supporting a business to implement digital technologies, to identify cost and service improvements or to deliver more value through improved Procurement functions. Through our solutions we work to enable clients to deliver more, at a lower cost, whilst utilising leading technologies.

As part of the Operational Transformation team you will work with a range of clients including some of the most well-known and largest organisations in the world, spanning all sectors and industries. A key part of this role will be reacting to current industry issues and challenges; working with clients to understand the external pressures on their operations and implementing and executing an operational strategy to enhance and grow the business.

Closely aligned to Operational Transformation is our Defence Consulting team. This team focuses exclusively on the Defence Sector, working with clients from both government and industry on large, complex and critical strategic issues that impact their organisations. Here you will have the opportunity to work in multi-disciplinary teams to design and implement strategies covering a number of different areas including digital transformation, financial and commercial management, data and analytics, workforce transformation and operational improvement, delivering exciting and purposeful projects at the heart of the nation’s social agenda.

We’re reimagining how we work at KPMG. Our firm is creating a tech-driven business to empower and equip our people to be outstanding in delivery – through inspiring workspaces, innovative ways to collaborate and hybrid ways of working. In your role, you’ll work flexibly across your location region – at KPMG offices, engagement sites and from home.

Training and Development:

The training and development of our people is critical to the future success of our business. We want all of our trainees to embrace a growth mindset of learning every day, which is why we have created a rich curriculum and learning community to help trainees build their skills and fulfil their potential. This ranges from an immersive 5-day induction experience, formal training courses, leadership knowledge bites, learning journals, online courses and networking events – all aligned to our life-long learning strategy and part of our overall student package.

In addition, in Operational Transformation we currently offer the CIMA Certificate qualification.

The CIMA Certificate Programme uses innovative technology and is delivered via a blend of Online Classroom Live and recorded courses. It also has wrap-around support which consists of online portal content and live and recorded additional study sessions which means there is a form of support for your every need. This approach enables you to study and learn the content at a pace suited to your learning style, but ensures all are at the right technical level prior to stepping into revision elements so you can focus on your exam technique before the exam. The structure of the programme spreads your examinations over the lifetime of the training contract so that you are able to build up your technical knowledge, and can gradually apply what you are learning in training to your workplace experience.
