The health and care system in Wales is facing a huge challenge as it works to tackle the virus within its communities. Aneurin Bevan University Health Board set up a testing unit to ensure that anyone who develops symptoms can quickly be tested to find out if they have the virus.

The programme has been operational for the last four months, and the testing unit is an essential component of the Health Boards Testing Strategy to sustain testing and decrease/stop the spread of the virus. The function of testing is relied upon by the region to provide clarity and assurance to those that need it. It works in parallel with the Regional Tracing Service to help trace close recent contacts of anyone who tests positive.

The Assistant Operational Manager for Testing will be responsible for the day to day running of the Health Board’s temporary testing units, to include managing its staff and processes. To support the Operational Lead in managing the testing team to ensure a high standard of professionalism, efficiency and effectiveness in the delivery of its service

To deputise for the Operational Lead for testing where appropriate.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
