PMO Support Officer

Band 5

Fixed Term Post until 31 October 22

As a Project Support Officer, the post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service supporting senior managers and staff across the North East and Yorkshire specialised commissioning teams. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain first-hand experience and understanding of specialised commissioning within the NHS, at a patient level, system level and nationally.

As the NHS develops an ICS approach to commissioning, we need to ensure that high quality effective specialised services are available to local populations, evidenced by recognised clinical standards, good outcomes and equality of access.

We are looking to the Project Support Officer to help support these principles within our commissioning team; to do this the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate knowledge of a range of clinical services and have an understanding of patient and public engagement and consultation.

The post holder duties will include: providing high level support to the wider senior management team and service specialist function. Supporting the team with management of projects including procurements and forward planning; acting as a point of contact for enquiries from external organisations. Providing ad-hoc business support to the senior management as and when required.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and organisational skills with a keen attention to detail; have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software; work effectively in a close team setting and have the ability to prioritise their own workload. They should also be a quick learner with willingness to learn and develop an understanding of the responsibilities of the team in order to appropriately deal with queries and routine matters. A can-do attitude and forward thinking is a must for this post.

Please note that the reason for the fixed term of this contract is to cover a colleagues internal secondment. The temporary contract will therefore, terminate on the 31 October 2022 to allow the substantive postholder to resume duties of their substantive post.
