1 Year Fixed term contract or Secondment

Working pattern: 5 days per week generally Monday-Friday (flexibility required depending on nurse arrival dates)

This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual or individuals (if job sharing) who would like to help lead and initiate change at a strategic level within a specialist organisation.

A fixed-term opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse to work within the nursing development and education team, alongside the current international nurse recruitment and revalidation lead.

You will be required to work collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders to establish processes and systems which will help acclimatise overseas recruited nurses into an unfamiliar working and social environment. In conjunction with the current international nurse recruitment and revalidation lead you will plan and deliver the Trust OSCE training programme, providing both theoretical education and practical clinical skills station training during an intensive 5-week preparation programme for each cohort of nurses throughout the year.

In relation to registered nurse revalidation you will be required to provide professional, comprehensive and specialist advice to support the nurses across the Trust with the NMC revalidation process, answering questions as required and providing support as needed.

The post holder is required to work independently on key aspects of the role, using their own initiative and as a senior member of the team, the post holder is expected to display leadership and role modelling skills within the nursing development and education team, across the Trust and to external stakeholders.

As the role involves the delivery of both theoretical education and training and practical clinical skills training, the successful candidate will require the following skills and experience:

    • Recent clinical nursing / Practice educator experience at a minimum of senior staff nurse level
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Experience in teaching and assessing pre and post-registration nursing staff
    • Excellent organisational skills
    • Excellent Leadership skills and be able to use own initiative
