Introduction
Are you an experienced senior Registered Nurse looking for a new challenge? Move your career forward when you join the team at Brighton and Hove Clinic as a Lead Night Nurse, where you'll feel supported, valued and recognised as you change lives for the better.
 
You will be working 37.5 hours a week at Brighton and Hove Clinic, where you will provide care for young people aged 12 up to 18 years with a primary diagnosis of eating disorders.
 
As a Lead Nurse, you will provide operational leadership during the night shifts as you deliver the highest quality of nursing care. This will see you advise, support and educate a team of nurses and set nursing services standards using a range of different approaches including, codes of conduct and practice, evidence-based practice, guidelines, legislation, protocols, procedures, policies, standards and systems.
 
With experience from the NHS or private sector, you will ensure systems are designed, implemented and monitored to ensure both efficient financial and clinical performance in the nursing department. This includes overseeing the nursing workforce forecasting and planning and the development and delivery of Nursing Services against key performance indicators.

Other Responsibilities:
  • Planning and implementing service developmental changes to improve service delivery
  • Liaison with Regional Lead Nurse re strategic planning of service developments in the context of Complex Care division
  • Actively support the implementation of Clinical Audit Programmes
  • Managing night shifts and ensuring all allocated tasks are completed
  • Meeting with ward manager to discuss any clinical concerns or ideas recognised on night shifts
  • offer supervision to junior night staff
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
  • Registered Qualified Nurse or Allied Professional
  • A professional qualification that supports clinical management
  • Leadership/general management qualification and/or experience
  • Have an interest in the sector and identification with the common values and aims of the service/group
  • An emphasis on the achievement of results and both the energy and enthusiasm to ensure that objectives are met
  • Initiative and leadership skills and the ability to gain the trust, commitment and cooperation of others
  • An understanding of clinical concerns, including the understanding of treatments and evolving medical technologies
