The Role

Purpose and Scope of Role:

The role will require you to:

·       React to alerts within agreed OLAs and SLAs, taking proactive measures to reduce impact on services before they turn into an incident.

·       Contribute to and co-develop a culture of proactive monitoring and highlighting trends to teams, this includes prioritisation and classification of alerts.

·       Monitor key services and watch for trends to analyse any impact to business trading, raising warning signs to Engineering and IT Ops teams for any suspicious traffic/data points.

·       Actively drive root cause analysis and correct call logging/closure details within the team to reduce calls and improve customer service along with the Incident Management team.

·      Set up and create end to end monitoring that captures impact to the customer journey and subsequently to downstream systems, with metrics to capture loss of trade impact as a financial measure.

·       Provide 24 x 7 alerts and monitoring of trading events and report these to teams on call.

.       Experience of applying AIOPs in an existing environment is a major plus.

Key Accountabilities:

·       Contribute to the development of service delivery frameworks, service agreements and service improvement plans. Able to apply these frameworks in appropriate ways to address business priorities.

·       Contribute to the ongoing development of the vision and strategic imperatives for the Operations & Service function, ensuring it continues to deliver high quality services that meet business and user expectations.

·       Monitor IT services from a customer journey point of view and understanding the impact to business trade.

·       Demonstrate excellent communication and stakeholder management, ability to collaboratively work with colleagues from inside and outside of Technology and serve as a role model to wider teams.

·       Ensure an exceptional customer experience for internal customers.

·       Develop an understanding of the business, strategy and priorities as well as solid relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.

·       Work closely with IT Incident Management team and take part in bridge calls 24 x 7, highlighting alerts and trends during incidents.

·       Contribute to a culture of exceptional customer service, where teams quickly assess outages and incidents in regards to business impact and technical complexity.

·       Ensure you escalate and communicate to senior management the existence and status of outages as necessary.

·       Engage with colleagues from across Technology to encourage a focus on service delivery and relevant service improvement activities.

·       Report and explain service performance, successes, issues, and opportunities to senior stakeholders inside Technology and where required, across the H&B business.

 

We offer a flexible, home-based working model. We have offices in Nuneaton and London, but you will not be required to be office-based.

The Person

Person Specification:

Professional qualifications and experience:

·       A minimum of 2 years' experience in an IT Operations Monitoring role or something similar.

·       Experience in working in a DevOps environment.

·       Understanding of industry standard technologies and infrastructure such as: networking, cloud storage, middleware, databases and virtual infrastructure

·       An understanding of Service Management within a digital and retail environment.

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively tailor communication of technical issues to various audiences.

·       Team player.

·       Drive, resilience, focus and energy with high level of emotional intelligence.
