Advanced Nurse Practitioner - Crisis Home Treatment Team - COVID-19 in Ripon

Job description

We are one of the largest specialist mental health and learning disabilities trusts in the country, with an annual income of £320m and a workforce of some 6,700 staff operating from around 100 sites in Durham, Teesside, North Yorkshire and York and Selby. We provide a range inpatient and community services to 2m people living in County Durham, the Tees Valley, Scarborough, Whitby, Ryedale, Harrogate, Hambleton and Richmondshire. An opportunity has arisen for a well-motivated and experienced Mental Health Nurse to play a key leadership role as a Band 7 Advanced Nurse Practitioner in the Harrogate Crisis and Intensive Home Treatment team for Adult services.

This is permanent position based in Ripon, supporting the adult populations of Harrogate, Ripon, Knaresborough, Wetherby and surrounding areas. The team operates over 24 hours, 7 days a week, with a 12 hr shift pattern.

The postholder will be part of a resilient and professional team working collaboratively with internal and external partners to meet the needs of those who are experiencing a crisis in their mental health needs. The team takes a recovery orientated, formulation driven approach, which values shared decision making.

You will be working as part of a service that responds to adults presenting with acute symptoms of mental ill health, distress and risk presentations. You will commonly provide supervision and intervention in the care and treatment of people presenting with co-morbid mental and physical health care needs, as well as complex bio-psychosocial presentations.

As both a clinician and part of the leadership group, you will be working alongside a multi disciplinary range of skills, knowledge and experience within your own team and others. You will be able to demonstrate strong clinical leadership, supervisory and coaching skills and excellent knowledge of mental health crisis, the Mental Health Act and complex risk assessment.

You will play a key role in the delivery of quality care across Harrogate Crisis services and will contribute to the establishment of positive working pathways and practices with community services, inpatient teams and other partners. You will play a key role in supporting the establishment of effective gatekeeping and in reach response to the local inpatient hospital wards.

Strong team working is essential, requiring networking with a variety of people, as well as working in partnership with a range of different agencies both internal and external to the team.
