Staff Nurse - Rotational Wards - COVID-19 in London

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Rotational Staff Nurse to join our Nursing clinical site team based at our main hospital in Central London. We are offering a competitive inclusive salary range of £34,534 - £41,503 per annum depending on experience.

As a rotational Staff Nurse, you will work across various surgical nursing units, including specialities such as; Urology, Neuroscience, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Spinal Surgery, Gynaecology and Digestive Diseases (Gastroenterology & Colorectal Surgery).

We have circa 1300 employees across 8 sites where we cover complex medical and surgical procedures and a comprehensive range of cancer and outpatient services.

 

Job Description

You will be responsible for the delivery of the highest standards of care and service to our patients. This includes the appropriate assessment and evaluation of care in keeping with the philosophies of the NMC Code of Professional Conduct as well as our hospitals policies and protocols.

  • Job Location:This role is located at our main hospital site in London, W1G 6BW (Close to Regents Park & Baker Street tube stations).
  • Job Type:This is a full-time, permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week.
  • Shifts:Mixed Shift Rotation – 11.5 hour shifts, working Long Days and Nights, including Weekends.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide efficient, effective and evidence-based nursing care to patients at The London Clinic.
  • Encourage good working relationships within the multidisciplinary team, to ensure the effective care and treatment of patients.
  • Promote safe practice and professional conduct, as well as research-based practice, quality assurance and clinical audits where appropriate.
  • Perform, document and report clinical observations and report changes in patient’s condition to nurse in charge or Consultant. This may include temperature, manual blood pressure, pulse, respiration, oxygen saturation and blood glucose monitoring.
  • Preparing clinical rooms for procedures and ensuring legibility and accuracy of nursing records, as well as assisting staff with administrative and clinical duties.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Registered General Nurse with valid NMC registration.
  • Post registration surgical nursing experience.
  • Sound and evidence-based knowledge in general nursing skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills who is friendly, flexible and adaptable in your approach.
  • To be polite and pleasant with an appropriate professional demeanour and also able to cope with stressful and sensitive situations.
