The Enhanced Response Service provides successful, person focused short term support to adults at home to minimise their care needs and maximise their independence. We are a fast moving responsive service and want to hear from people with experience of domiciliary services, a passion for care provision and who want to make a difference for the people in Cambridgeshire.

This is an exciting opportunity for anyone who is committed to coming up with the best solutions to help people be as independent as possible in their own homes.

The Enhanced Response Service operates a 365 days per year service, responding to emergency Lifeline calls for help and other points of emergency contact from a variety of sources. Working in pairs across Cambridgeshire, no two days will be the same.

As a responder you will be responding to Telecare alerts and people who need non-emergency assistance. This includes:
• providing assistance to get a person up from the floor following a fall
• Personal care – that is needed in an urgent and unplanned circumstance
• Provide reassurance
• Respond to silent calls

We also respond to non-injured calls from the ambulance service, and calls from our partnership teams. Using a company car whilst on shift, you will work in pairs. We also offer full training.

You would be based with the team in CPDC, Cambridge. The posts will require flexible working, meaning this will include evening and weekend shifts with additional Bank Holiday cover when needed. This is a 24 hour service, and so there is also a night team in operation.

The hourly equivalent is £10.19 - £10.39 with enhanced pay rates for Saturdays (£15.29), Sundays (£17.91) and bank holidays (£20.38)

The role involves travel across Cambridgeshire, so you must be a car driver, and have access to a vehicle.

Cambridgeshire County Council offers a wide range of benefits including a generous mileage allowance and also membership of the Local Government Pension scheme. Annual leave allowance starts at a minimum of 23 days per year, rising with continuous service.

This is an exciting opportunity to really make a difference for people.

Should you have further questions on this role, please email Recruitment.CFA@cambridgeshire.gov.uk.

This is a rolling campaign, and we will review applications daily so please don't wait for the closing date to apply. Candidates will be progressed shortly after they apply, and the opportunity will be filled as soon as we identify a suitable candidate, which may be before the closing date. So please don't hesitate, we want to speak to you now!

Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

We are proud to serve the diverse communities of Cambridgeshire and want our workforce to reflect this diversity, which we believe is beneficial for our employees, the organisation and the communities we serve.
