NHS Blood and Transplant Manchester Blood Centre within the Manufacturing Team is currently looking for immediate start cover for 6 Night shifts candidates and 3 candidates to cover Day shifts.

NHS Blood and Transplant helps provide people with some extraordinary services such as donating blood, Tissue or stem cells to same someone in need.

Manchester Blood Centre has a great supportive team with a family feel. Based in the heart of the Hospitals main site, which is set within tree-lined parkland grounds, the post holder here will be pivotal in providing the best level of quality care to varying departments and their patients’ needs.

We have long term placement opportunities available for band 2 Medical Healthcare Technical Officer Manchester Blood Centre, specifically providing the following

  • Undertaking precise repetitive and routine tasks, carrying out manipulation of equipment and handling blood bags and blood samples/donations on a regular basis
  • Handling blood bags and a range of equipment
  • Manually handling equipment daily weighing up to 13 kgs, with or without mechanical aids, with appropriate training
  • You must have had HEP B Vaccinations to do this role, as you will be working with Blood Products

Skills/Responsibilities

You must have a minimum of GCSE grade C or above including English and Maths or equivalent qualification. You need to be confident computers and packages such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word etc.)
