If you love food and people this is the ideal role for you. You will help manage volunteers to deliver meals every week, using your experience of cooking and enjoying rescuing surplus food.
This is an incredible opportunity to support our fantastic London Projects to ensure we can welcome over 30 guests to join our weekly community meals that run in Walthamstow on a Thursday evening and White City and Thorton Heath on a Saturday. You will develop your knowledge of the local community, building on our existing connections to actively recruit additional volunteers into volunteer leadership roles.
You will attend the Project most weeks, leading the existing team of cooking or hosting volunteers to ensure high levels of food safety and hygiene are carried out, whilst supporting all volunteers to keep themselves and guests safe. You will also be helping to give our volunteers a fantastic experience by creating a fun, creative and supportive environment.
The right person for this role enjoys being organised, has a great personality, champions volunteering, pays attention to detail and understands that they are a key component in supporting our fantastic Project that supports vulnerable adults experiencing food poverty and loneliness. It’s a great experience to meet beneficiaries first hand who often tell us that FoodCycle is their family.
