Job description

The Senior Manager Risk Management (People Risk), leads the team that enables a comprehensive threat and risk management framework and the development of commensurate mitigation measures and capabilities to cope with various levels of threats, incidents and crisis situations that jeopardize Amazon’s personnel, assets, operations and interests.


Key job responsibilities
1. Create detailed people risk programs and comprehensive assessment reports to identify vulnerabilities and risks, and create frameworks and mechanisms by translating Amazon Security Policies into real world applications to defeat known and emerging/projected risks
2. Support the business with analytical deep dives to identify root causes of people risk and major incidents
3. Train, advise, and partner with other functions in identifying, managing and mitigating people risks through robust standards and processes
4. Assess known and new vulnerabilities and threats within Amazon business operations
5. Work with stakeholders and internal customers to establish, provide, and agree on clear goals, objectives, and performance delivery outcomes



A day in the life
The Senior Manager works closely and on daily basis with most senior leaders of Operations, Employee Relations, Public Relations, Public Policy, Finance, Legal, and more. GSO Security Risk Management operates in highly diversified and volatile environment which includes numerous regulatory and law enforcement environments, cultures, languages, criminality levels and national, political, social and security complexities. The team’s operational footprint covers global operations.
The Senior Manager leads the cooperation with various global functions to develop specific frameworks and mechanisms relevant to managing people risk.



About the team
In partnership with stakeholders, we secure Amazon supply chain end-to-end and promote security in business decision-making conversations. We do this by preventing Security and Loss Prevention-related risks and vulnerabilities as early as possible, intervening in unfolding incidents to minimize any negative impact. Thoroughly investigating security-related incidents to identify and remove root causes.
The Security Risk Management team provides strategic, tactical and operational analysis of the business needs and priorities by working with business leaders, support and security functions in a global framework. The team collects information to evaluate existing and evolving threats, assessing the probability of related events in order to minimize potential impact.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

1. An advanced degree
2. Project management and delivery experience
3. Knowledge and qualification in industry risk assessment and resilience processes
4. Demonstrated ability to work with multiple, competing deadlines, with excellent attention to detail
5. Ability to communicate with all levels of business leadership and staff

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Advanced degree in related field (Risk management, HR, Resilience etc.)
2. Experience with continuous improvement cycles and analytical methodology
3. Familiarity with risk, business continuity and data management platforms (BSI, Audit board etc)
4. Risk management industry certification
