Personal Assistant for Disabled Activist
I'm looking for more assistants (over 18). I’m an activist and have severe cerebral palsy. I don’t need you to have any specific training or experience with disabled people before – I can teach you everything but there will be a lot of transcription of my work and this is only possible if you are able to write fluently. I am unable to interview anyone who is not confident with writing in English. This will be initially assessed through your cover letter, even if it is just a few sentences. There are generally three areas where I need help.
1. Academic transcription.
2. Helping me with my personal care including hygiene and food.
3. You may also have to keep my flat relatively tidy.
I cannot offer any remote work, you must be able to help with physical tasks and personal care as I can need the toilet at any time. £13 an hour, generally one or two 9-5 shifts and possibly two 5-9 shifts a week. Happy to either offer regular work or decide the week before. Based in Vauxhall, SE11. Generally, some shifts will be pretty regular and some others will be cover/shorter notice. Flexibility is appreciated.
