Job Title:             Technology Teacher 

Location:             Longdon Park School, Egginton, Derbyshire

Salary:                 £30,000 - £35,000 per annum with possible salary increase for additional responsibility

Hours:                 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Contract:             Permanent, Term time only

We are looking for an IT Teacher experience to join our fantastic well-established team at Longdon Park School.

About us

Longdon Park School opened in June 2015.  We are a co-educational day school catering for pupils aged 7 to 18 with complex educational needs, communication difficulties and challenging behaviour primarily with a diagnosis of ASD. We provide a therapeutic, supportive and inclusive learning environment where our young people learn to accept responsibility for their actions, make positive decisions and display pro-social behaviour. We are committed to raising achievement and enabling pupils to recognise their potential and supporting them through a personalised, engaging curriculum. Our priority is to develop the foundation knowledge and skills required to make a manageable and smooth transition to the next life stage.

Longdon Park is going through an exciting period of growth which is why this position is now available.

For over 16 years Options Autism have provided care and education to pupils, young people and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties. As part of Outcomes First Group we are leading our sector in setting and delivering new approaches that provide measurable outcomes for those in our care.

About the Role

The Technology Teacher is responsible for high quality teaching to ensure the effective delivery of the school’s curriculum. The ideal candidate will successfully set a vision and targets for pupil success and be confident in using their knowledge and expertise to monitor progress, give regular feedback and encouraging our young people to take a responsible and conscientious attitude to their own work and study.

The teachers at Longdon Park School are encouraged to take a creative approach, seeking ways to positively engage with and motivate pupils through lessons that promote learning and raise levels of attainment. Smaller class sizes mean you can focus on building a purposeful learning environment that meets individual educational needs of pupils. You will be joining a supportive and caring team who put a relentless focus on the outcomes of the pupils and young people in our care.

Educated with PGCE or Equivalent Teaching Qualification.
