Contract: Permanent, Full Time - Hybrid Working (3 days office based, 2 days at home) Salary: Grade 9 (£33,945

£35,745) Location: Humberside Fire & Rescue Service Headquarters, Summergroves Way, Hull Closing Date: 9pm on Sunday 11th February One of Humberside Fire and Rescue Services core principles is innovation, and we are investing in our systems to help us achieve that aim. The Digital Services Team comprises of Innovation, Solutions and Assurance departments, this role is in the Digital Innovation Team. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate the following skills: Current skills Creation of bespoke applications and enhancing existing applications utilising a range of programming languages.(HFRS use C#, Python and VB.net) Comfortable with web development languages to create and extend applications.(HFRS use HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, and Bootstrap) Extracting and ingesting data from externally hosted Web APIs including JSON and XML formats.(HFRS use C# natively with SQLBulkCopy) The above skills are the main requirements of the role, we would like to speak to you if can demonstrate them. We would also like you to be adaptable enough to learn the following skills if you dont already possess them: Ability to learn Experience of Azure cloud-based platforms and resources. Contribute to scoping, requirement, and specification documents as part of stakeholder engagement. Translate requirements into clear user stories to be worked. Provide system overview and support for both new and existing development. Managing development projects and code bases utilising close version control, branches and pull requests.(HFRS use Microsoft Azure DevOps) Continuous improvement including the review of existing systems and suggestion of new items to develop. Open source and low code options for development(HFRS use O365 tools including, PowerApps and Power Automate) Agile development project management methodologies, sprints, user stories and breaking down projects into smaller tasks.(HFRS run weekly sprints using Scrum methodologies) Overview of SQL database schemas and T-SQL language for the extraction of data.(HFRS use Microsoft SQL Server, a mixture of Azure managed instances and VMs) Equally as important as the skills you possess are your personal characteristics and how you align with the Service.
