SF Recruitment are partnered with a private equity backed business based in Birmingham, who are seeking a Direct Tax Manager.

Our client requires an experienced individual to lead the Direct Tax function to effectively and efficiently deliver, in conjunction with our outsourced providers, all aspects of global corporation tax (CT) compliance and related advisory matters.

The role will include but not be limited to the following duties:

- Accountability for the end-to-end delivery of global CT compliance and oversight of the group's CT status in all jurisdictions - Responsible for accurate reporting of CT results; review and delivery of accounting and reporting processes for tax, and review of the year end IFRS tax disclosures for the annual report. [Note this is currently outsourced but will ultimately be brought in-house.] - Responsible for managing the relationship with PwC Tax Audit team - Responsible for management of tax payments and development/ongoing oversight of cash tax forecast - Implement and maintain CT control and governance framework compliant with UK SAO regime - Responsible for continuous improvement of the group's CT systems and processes, driving process efficiencies and technology improvements as appropriate - Preparation and submission of annual SAO Certification - CT advisory support on more complex customer arrangements, internal restructuring projects, business transformation initiatives (ERP, LER) and M&A transactions - Ensuring compliance with worldwide transfer pricing and BEPS/Pillar II obligations, as appropriate. Ensure all IC transactions are appropriately understood, documented and reviewed each quarter - Provide support and advice to the business, including finance teams in other territories to help them manage local CT risks - In collaboration with the Tax Director, manage HMRC and other Tax Authority relationships, including responding to tax notices/tax audits and other requests as appropriate - Identification and communication of changes in tax law that may impact the Group (globally) - Hybrid role with 3 days a week in Birmingham office required
