Bouygues Energies & Services has a fantastic opportunity available for a Qualification Lead Engineer to be based from our Bristol office in Bradley Stoke.

We have been awarded a Turn-key EPC contract for the Hinkley Point C (HPC) new-build nuclear power plant Emergency Diesel Generators. This is a great opportunity for someone who would be keen to work on this exciting and technically challenging project.

Job Purpose:

Leading and coordinating activities for qualification activities of the EDG HPC project.

The Role:

Technical supervision of the qualification engineer.

Line management of the qualification engineer.

Follow-up, tracking and technical oversight of Subcontractor qualification activities.

Ensure the contract requirements related to qualification activities are fulfilled.

Maintain the EDG project’s qualification strategy/process and follow-up.

Ensure the production/review of the project’s qualification related deliverables.

Review the deliverables issued by sub-contractors and ensure that these meet the technical and quality requirements of the Client.

Track qualification progress against the project programme and site need dates. Escalate schedule risks.

Liaise with and support the Contract Manager in your area of responsibility.

Prepare technical responses to variation requests from the customer, including costings, and present them to the Project Change Committee.

Monitor, review and prepare proposed responses to NNB General Communications and claims in your area of responsibility, in coordination with the Contract Manager.

Conduct surveillance of qualification tests.

Liaise with and support the Procurement Lead in procuring suppliers and handling any claims that may arise.

Coordinate with the Responsible Designer.

The person will ideally have:

Degree in an engineering discipline

Knowledge of qualification

Mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge

An understanding of interface and change management
