This role reports into the Compliance Manager and requires an individual to work alongside the brands within Barbon to find solutions, resolve issues and deliver actions. The role will: Support Barbon with delivery of strategic initiatives to aid the business to grow and succeed in a compliant way,and helps achieve the right balance between risk taking and control. Support Barbon with delivery of operational priorities to reduce regulatory risk associated with our products and how we sell them. Support Barbon with the assessment of risk and application of proportionate controls Manage breaches & E&O’s through to completion. Ensure the implementation of advice and guidance from 2LoD. Ensure the business operates in line with Group policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities: Work with Barbon to drive delivery of activity that supports the business objectives, whilst ensuring adherence to regulation. Work with 2LoD to ensure advice and guidance is interpreted and implemented in line with Barbon’s risk appetite. Manage the oversight of regulatory partners, escalating where appropriate. Responsible for compiling product governance paperwork. Feed relevant information and recommendations into all compliance and governance forums- responsible for compliance commentary for monthly, quarterly and regulatory reports. Highlight the priority compliance actions for Barbon by analysing conduct MI and undertaking trend and root cause analysis. Ensure regulatory reporting is completed, accurate and submitted in a timely manner. Providing information and support in connection with audits and supporting the monitoring and closing out of remedial actions. Oversight of regulated complaints and Quality Assurance. Timely escalation of issues to the Compliance Manager. Ensure Barbon’s controls are effective and take action to improve/close gaps where necessary. Sign off financial promotions within the remit of 1LoD. Support Barbon with the creation of compliant customer documentation, undertake regular reviews of approved material and ensure regulator changes are implemented. Support and where appropriate own the management of breaches and E&O’s and resolution focussing on root cause and control effectiveness. Essential: Minimum of 2 years experience working in a risk & compliance role within the general insurance industry Understanding of the FCA handbook including but not limited to: ICOBS PROD DISP SYSC Distribution models – AR/IAR/IO/PIP Experience of; Consumer Duty Financial Promotions sign off Breach & E&O management Regulatory relationships Pricing Practices Commercial Insurances Strong relationship building Determined - focussed on action and delivery Strong and clear communication Attention to detail and accuracy Multitask multiple priorities simultaneously Root Cause Analysis Ability to take a pragmatic approach Support a positive compliance culture Flexible and pragmatic Solutions focussed Customer focussed A doer, willing to get stuck in Resilient Self-Motivated Desirable: Degree Relevant financial services, insurance or compliance qualifications Experience working with third parties; engagement and oversight. Experience of private rental sector.
