We are currently seeking an Underwriting Executive from an insurer, MGA or broker background who can demonstrate that they have knowledge of the arrangements for the accounting of our products as well as being able to communicate and provide management information and Bordeaux to our capacity providers.
You will be part of the underwriting team based at our offices in Warrington and will act as a point of liaison between ourselves and underwriters/brokers and MGAs on a day-to-day transnational level. In addition, you will also assist with the distribution of our products to both existing and new clients.
Underwriter executive responsibilities:
Reconciliation and reporting of month end premium bordereau to our underwriters.
Reconciliation of receipts received to internal systems.
Provide assistance to the managing director during renewal of binders.
Help resolve day to day underwriting queries, referrals and validations via telephone and mailboxes.
Assist in underwriting audits.
Attend (remotely) quarterly underwriting reviews with external underwriters and respond to questions and queries where appropriate.
Liaise with clients and brokers re submission of bordereau and payments of premium.
Developing and maintaining good working relationships with clients (brokers), primarily insurance brokers
Introducing new products and promoting them through regular visits and communication with intermediaries
Gaining new business by identifying and exploiting opportunities in the local market
Increasing profitability of existing product lines by encouraging clients (brokers) to use added value services wherever possible.
Consulting on the most effective cover for a particular need
Delivering excellent customer service by responding swiftly to queries and concerns from clients (brokers)
Undertake analysis of competitor products and prices to provide accurate information for reporting purposes.
CRM management and maintenance in relation to products for the purpose of LEI validation
Preparation and maintenance of spreadsheets for reporting
Payment of claims from managed fund accounts
Preparation and finalisation of monthly claims bordereau for our underwriter
What we are looking for:
Insurance background essential
Basic understanding of accountancy would be advantageous.
Possess strong organisational skills and excellent time management.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong sales and negotiation skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Be able to demonstrate clear thought process.
Manage a high volume of work with conflicting priorities.
Ability to meet tight deadlines.
Attention to detail and accurate record keeping
High standard of literacy and numeracy
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Knowledge of Transactor is advantageous.
