A new and exciting opportunity has been created for a passionate, ambitious and driven individual to work within a newly formed Learning Disability Service based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. The unit has been designed and developed to provide excellent high standards of care and support for Young Adults aged 16 to 25.
Building on these solid foundations, we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Speech and Language Therapist to help support and drive the service forward.
The Role:
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary Management Team to provide speech and language therapy for Young Adults with learning disabilities.
Safeguard the young adults through being involved in their continued assessment, planning and reviews
Support members of your team effectively to engage with the young adults in order to develop professional relationships based on trust
Support the young adults with a learning disability to achieve their full potential
Work collaboratively with community resources

Job Types:

Salary: £29.515.20 up to £41.683.20 per year depending on skills and qualifications
We require:
A person with a Speech and Language Therapy qualification.
Experience of working with people with a Learning Disability
Good Literacy and communication skills
Patience and empathy of some of the issues and challenges that people with a learning disability face
