The Client
Our client are a National Electricity Registration Scheme (NERS) accredited Independent Connection Provider (ICP) offering a comprehensive and professional service from a team of in-house specialists with a wealth of industry experience totalling over 115 years.
Their expertise includes the design, construction, installation, connection, commissioning, repair and maintenance of all underground cables, overhead lines, and electrical infrastructure from LV to 11Kv
33Kv.
They are looking to add a Commissioning Engineer working on 11Kv
33Kv projects.
The Role
You will be commissioning new assets leading on fault response when things go wrong, developing new projects, partnering with designers and suppliers on solutions for modernising assets. The types of projects you will be involved with are - new build substations, cable extensions and replacements, routine single asset replacement, substation extensions and new customer connections.
Supervise/perform the following activities on switchgear, transformers and related equipment between the voltage range of 11v
33kv. Such as, GIS switchgear and future SF6 replacement technology solutions in all their variations, HV equipment
such as complex cable systems, transformers and compensation equipment along with protection and control, but not just existing technologies
Off-loading of new panels, switchgear and transformers.
Installation of new panels.
Commissioning of Electrical Equipment.
Wiring Modifications and Retrofit upgrades.
Planned Maintenance
From visual to intrusive across our product range.
Systems testing and fault diagnosis.
Installation of EAA sensors and required hardware.
Document test results and produce site work reports.
Contribute to the formulation of offers for site activities.
Assist with works tests when necessary.
Supervising personnel onsite which will include members of your own team and sub-contractors.
Liaising with the installation/project managers.
The Person
Your minimum qualification is a Level 4/HNC in Electrical Engineering.
You are experienced in commissioning LV/HV equipment and technically proficient in power systems theory.
Youll be organised with excellent attention to detail and communication skills, can demonstrate experience of site supervisory or management and delivery of projects.
Youll also have an excellent understanding of Safety and Environmental legislation, practices and policies, and hold a current UK driving licence.
