Work as a Experienced Veterinary Surgeon in London

Job description

An independent practice we are working with is looking for an experienced full time Veterinary Surgeon to join the team. The position is for a 4-day week with no out of hours, which gives a great work life balance. An independent small animal practice based in Dorking, Surrey is situated in a beautiful part of the country with easy access to London and the coast. There is lots to do in the local area from sports clubs and activities, to walks or cycling around stunning countryside, to days out, shopping centres and a plethora of pubs and restaurants. The team consists of 10 vets, 7 RVNs, 3 SVNS, 8 receptionists and 2 kennel assistants. Supporting the staff is of great importance and most of the staff have been with the practice for a long time. The team are very passionate about their clients and offer a high level of patient care. They are forward thinking about the services they offer to clients, and they work together to ensure the protocols and techniques are up to date, whilst ensuring meeting the client's needs. The practice has an excellent reputation in the community and a large loyal client base, with many signed up to the practice plan. They are an ISFM certified cat friendly clinic and see a variety of exotic animals as well. The clinic prides themselves in ensuring all the team benefit from continued professional development, and they have both vet and nurse certificate holders within the team. They aim to work-up cases as much as they can in-house and both the subscription to Vet CT (specialist support) and the excellent teamwork available helps to facilitate this. There is clinical freedom within the team to explore your own interests and develop new areas of expertise within the practice. The practice has a fantastic nursing team and reception staff creating a lovely working environment. The practice has top quality, modern veterinary equipment and facilities, including laparoscopic equipment, digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound with a cardiac probe, in-house Idexx lab, digital bronchoscope and endoscope. They are either consultation days at one of the branches, surgery days with some consults in the evening, or inpatient/ emergency shifts. Theout-of-hours is run by an external provider and our phones transfer over at 7pm during the week and at 6pm on Saturdays. They also cover Sundays and bank holidays which the staff are free to enjoy. They have one late shift (not every week) which is 10am till 8pm, allowing you to manage inpatients and transfer them for overnight care if needed.
