Full Time 37.5hours Remote - with an expectation of travel/visits A UK driving licence is an essential requirement

About us

The RAF Association has a clear objective: to help sustain a resilient and empowered RAF community, including serving personnel, RAF veterans and their families. Through our sector leading services, we offer friendship to the isolated and lonely, sheltered housing for those who want to remain proudly independent and childcare to serving personnel on RAF stations. We work closely with partner organisations, including other military charities, and have a strong bond with our donors and supporters, giving us the confidence to deliver for our beneficiaries when they need us. We work together to make sure no one is ever left behind.

About the role

The Club Engagement Officer is central to achieving the Associations purpose, ensuring we reach and support those in need, through close links with our club network. The role is pivotal in contributing to the development, implementation, and delivery of the Associations overarching comradeship and wellbeing strategy. The role focuses on developing and supporting the Associations clubs network, supporting our club and branch volunteers to develop and deliver within a challenging and ever-evolving environment.

This is a newly created role and will involve collaborative working with a large number of stakeholders through various directorates of the Association. You will have responsibilities which include providing guidance and oversight to the Associations clubs to support the delivery of high-quality wellbeing services, as well as focusing on the opportunity to increase sustainability and viability of clubs. You will be the subject lead in supporting clubs with alcohol licensing, gaming licensing, and managing private members clubs. Longer term, you will be contributing to the review, design and implementation of a club strategy and property strategy, including developing procedures and practice to comply with best practice principles and legislative requirements.

About you

It is essential that you have a qualification or established work experience in pub/club management and hospitality or relevant leadership in the industry. Crucially you will have an up to date working knowledge of club licencing and gaming legislation along with solid relationship management skills. This is a role where you will need to have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate, persuade and influence others to embrace change to ensure club compliance. Whilst an understanding of charity governance is highly desirable, it is not essential as training will be provided to the ideal candidate. You will have experience of working to and meeting stretching targets and an ability to interpret business information/budgets and apply these to practice.

Overall, we are looking for a dynamic and driven individual who can contribute to our ongoing clubs development strategy whilst at the same time adapting their style to a wide range of audiences, some of whom may require additional support in understanding club compliance.
