Ford Manufacturing Internship - June 2017

A global automotive industry leader based in Dearborn, Michigan, manufactures and distributes automobiles across six continents. Ford has about 197,000 employees and 67 plants worldwide, and the UK is one of our most important markets outside the US. We are looking for talented individuals to undertake a 12-month paid work placement, as part of our Business Placement Programme. You will work in our Engine Plant, starting in June 2017.

We are looking for talented individuals to undertake a 12-month paid work placement, as part of our Business Placement Programme. You will work in our Engine Plant, starting in June 2017.

The Ford Dagenham Engineering team is based across two manufacturing facilities working with truly global customers, so you will find yourself working with engineers in a number of internal organisations across the world, but primarily throughout Europe. The work is challenging, interesting and varied with specific objectives and measurable outcomes that will be seen during the placement period.

The objective of our Manufacturing Internship program is to enable you to gain exposure to a diverse mix of the work we do, and so broaden your knowledge and skills as widely as possible. This is your chance to experience working with a large professional Engineering community for one of the country's leading automotive companies, building award winning engines, in world class facilities. The result will be you having an excellent grounding within Manufacturing Engineering to enable your future career to flourish.

Your placement will be within one of the following areas:

  • Production Engineering
  • Manufacturing Engineering
  • Tooling Engineering
  • Plant Engineering
  • Productivity Engineering
  • Material Handling Engineering

You will be able to demonstrate:

Your placement within Powertrain Operations Engineering will enhance your understanding of how a successful global corporation works. You will gain insight into your chosen discipline and develop both personal and professional skills that will be of benefit to you in your future career. You'll also have the opportunity to use cutting edge technology for communication and engineering as part of your daily business, as well as understanding how Ford utilises its diverse global team to enhance its business.
